My name is Melinda and I prepared my first meal when I was 4 years old. Mom stood me on a chair and supervised while I made chili. Sure, it was canned beans and she helped with frying the hamburger, but my family gave me the credit and the rave reviews. Since then, I have wanted to please people with food that I prepare. About My Mom:
Sue Ellen Fuller Koonce, was a genius in the kitchen. Examples: she made a liver and onions that liver haters would scarf down and beg for more and a sworn coleslaw-hater discovered that he LOVED her coleslaw!
I watched her most of my life and picked up quite a few of her methods, but Mom didn’t measure anything and I HAVE to measure everything! Just like fingerprints and snowflakes, each cook is different. Thank goodness, cuz my gravy is made way different than hers was, but they come out the same.
About My Grandmother:
Tracy Marie Little Fuller, I donned the Stone Soup Queen. In the 70’s money was nearly non-existent, so there was no “going out to dinner” or the like. I would look in the practically empty cabinets and pantry and fridge and wonder what the heck we were gonna eat! By dinner time, Grandma had a full size, family pleasing meal on the table!! I still don’t know how she did it!!
